About » Technical Overview » Data Model

The Transfer Data Model, initially designed by the National States Geographic Information Council (NSGIC) and enhanced by feedback from other awardees, their technical partners, and NTIA/FCC, provides a transfer mechanism for all of the required and optional data as part of this program. Based on requests by various grantees, it also includes some fields that reflect additional data that is of interest to grantees.

The Transfer Data Model was developed solely as a transfer tool, and is not recommended for use as a data storage mechanism or an online mapping application. The data model is provided as a blank file geodatabase.
