The National Broadband Map's production stack is open source and uses open standards protocols. The application itself uses only HTML, CSS and JavaScript.

Database
PostgreSQL 8.4.X or greater, with spatial extension Postgis 1.5 or greater installed.

Application Server
Tomcat 6.0.29.

Custom applications
The National Broadband Map APIs and backend services are currently deployed as a single WAR file.

GIS Server
The GIS Server software in Geoserver version 2.1.

Web Server
Apache 2.x.
